Alaska Canopy Adventures launched its first canopy tour in 2005 and has since provided thousands of people an opportunity to experience the spectacular beauty of Alaska’s rain forest through the treetops! Guest safety and comfort of our guests is paramount to our operations. ACA operates daily shore excursions in Ketchikan and Juneau for cruise ship passengers and independent travelers. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a strong orientation to risk management. This tour involves working at great heights. It is important that a successful applicant have the willingness and commitment in taking responsibility for a participants' safety at all times. ACA will train the qualified applicants to be the best in their job. All trainees must pass written and on-the-job skill tests before officially hired.

SKILL TESTING:ACA positions may require prior experience and /or specific skills and/or licenses. For most positions, paid training is available. ACA will provide the resources, both equipment and instruction, at no charge to the potential employee to obtain the required skills. Upon successfully passing a skills test, you will be hired and receive an employment agreement.

EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENTS: Upon hiring, all employees will be required to sign an Employment Agreement. This agreement will specify duties, wages and responsibilities as an employee. You must remain with ACA until the end date declared on the application form to be eligible for any seasonal benefits.

SEASON: Our operations begin in early May and end in late September. Training will start in April. All applicants selected for training must be available by mid-April. The shoulder seasons are from May to June, August to September and the peak season is from June to August.

SCHEDULE AND INCOME: ACA positions are seasonal with the compensation varying by position and length of service. Employees can expect to work 6-12 hours a day with a minimum of one day off per week. The season runs for approximately five months and hours can be long during the peak months. You must be prepared to work any day and time of the week. There is an opportunity to increase income as guests prefer to tip for exceptional service. ACA does not guarantee tips. Bonuses will be paid based on individual performance and longevity. Cost of living in Alaska is high and applicants are advised to arrive with enough money to last until their first paycheck.

ACA POLICIES: All employees are subject to random drug testing. ACA reserves the right to terminate employment in the event of positive findings or failure to comply with other company polices. ACA has a zero tolerance policy for safety violations and maintains a drug-free workplace. ACA reserves the right to change, suspend or cancel without notice, all or any part of our policies, procedures, and benefits at any time as needed.

UNIFORMS: All employees will be required to meet company dress and grooming standards. Uniforms vary depending on the position and every employee is required to wear the proper uniform. Safety and professional appearance are determining factors in our uniform policy; therefore you will be expected to wear your hair conservatively.

TRANSPORTATION: ACA doesn't provide transportation to or from Alaska. Ketchikan and Juneau do not have land connection with the mainland. See the “Preparing for your Visit” tab of our website for information on how to get here and short term housing. The employer does not provide transportation to and from the job site.
